The Department of Computer Science & Business Systems was established in 2021 with an intake of 60 students, aiming to bridge the gap between core computing technologies and business applications. The department offers a B.Tech. programme in Computer Science & Business Systems, affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, with a curriculum that integrates computer science fundamentals, business domain knowledge, and industry-oriented practices. Focused on developing technically competent and business-aware professionals, the department functions under the academic leadership of Dr. S. Venkatasubramanian, M.E., Ph.D, Associate Professor and Head, who guides the department towards excellence in teaching, learning, and holistic student development.
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science was established in 2021 with an initial intake of 60 students and expanded its capacity to 120 students in 2022, reflecting the growing demand for expertise in emerging technologies. The department offers a B.Tech. programme in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, which is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and is designed to equip students with strong foundations in intelligent systems, data analytics, and real-world problem solving. With a focus on academic excellence, industry relevance, and innovation, the department is led by Dr. S. Ravimaran, M.E., Ph.D, Professor and Head, who provides academic leadership and strategic direction to foster quality teaching, research, and professional development.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in 1998 with an initial intake of 40 students for the undergraduate programme and has steadily grown over the years, increasing its intake from 40 to 60 in 2000 and further to 120 in 2011. The UG programme is permanently affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and the department was accredited by The Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI) in 2015, receiving life-time accreditation, reflecting its sustained commitment to academic excellence. The department has also achieved NBA accreditation twice—first for the period 2018–2019 to 2021–2022 (up to 30.06.2022) and again for 2022–2023 to 2024–2025 (up to 30.06.2025). Supported by a strong and qualified faculty team as of December 2025, comprising 7 faculty members with Ph.D. qualifications, 10 faculty pursuing Ph.D., and 3 faculty with M.E./M.Tech, the department focuses on quality teaching, research, and the holistic development of students to meet global industry and societal needs.
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning was established in 2022 with an initial intake of 60 students, in response to the rapid advancements and industry demand in intelligent computing technologies. The department offers a B.E. (CSE) programme in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, which is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and is structured to provide students with strong foundations in AI algorithms, machine learning models, and practical problem-solving skills. Emphasizing academic excellence, innovation, and industry relevance, the department is led by Dr. A. Delphin Carolina Rani, M.E., Ph.D, Professor and Head, who guides the department in fostering quality education, research orientation, and professional competency among students.
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in 1998 with the commencement of the undergraduate programme, which currently has an intake of 120 students, followed by the introduction of the postgraduate programme in 2004 with an intake of 6 students. The department received Ph.D. programme recognition in 2013, and to date 21 scholars have been awarded Ph.D. degrees, with 16 research scholars currently pursuing doctoral studies. The UG programme is permanently affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and the department has an excellent accreditation record with three cycles of NBA accreditation—first in 2009, second for the period 2018–2019 to 2021–2022 (with a one-year extension), and third for 2022–2023 to 2024–2025 (valid up to 30.06.2025). As of December 2025, the department is strengthened by a qualified faculty team comprising 5 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, and 11 Assistant Professors, and is led by Dr. M. Santhi, M.E., Ph.D, Professor and Head, who provides academic leadership and strategic direction to promote excellence in teaching, research, and innovation.
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in 1998 with the introduction of the undergraduate programme, which currently has an intake of 60 students, followed by the launch of the postgraduate programme in 2004 with an intake of 6 students. The department received Ph.D. programme recognition in 2013, and at present 32 research scholars are pursuing doctoral research, highlighting its strong research culture. The UG programme is permanently affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and the department has demonstrated consistent academic quality through four cycles of NBA accreditation—the first in 2009, the second in 2013, the third for the period 2018–2019 to 2021–2022, and the fourth for 2022–2023 to 2024–2025 (valid up to 30.06.2025). As of December 2025, the department is supported by a competent faculty team comprising 7 faculty members with Ph.D. qualifications, 7 faculty members pursuing Ph.D., and 1 faculty member with M.E./M.Tech. The department is led by Dr. C. The Department of Information Technology was established in 2001 with an initial intake of 60 students, which continues to date, reflecting the sustained interest and demand in the IT domain. The department has been accredited by The Institution of Engineers (India) in 2015 with life-time recognition and has also achieved NBA accreditation twice—first for the academic years 2018–2019 to 2021–2022, and second for 2022–2023 to 2024–2025 (valid up to 30.06.2025). Focused on providing quality education and research opportunities, the department is supported by a dedicated faculty team as of December 2025, comprising 2 faculty members with Ph.D. qualifications, 4 faculty members pursuing Ph.D., and 2 faculty members with M.E./M.Tech.
